Finger Lakes ReUse To Give Away Free Quality Items At Triphammer ReUse Center
Finger Lakes ReUse is giving away items this weekend (Saturday through Monday) at the Triphammer ReUse Center (2255 N. Triphammer Road in the Triphammer Marketplace).
Keeping items out of the waste stream is one of our top priorities at Finger Lakes ReUse. Reusable items that we receive through donations from the community are typically priced at least 50% off new retail prices, and if items don’t sell immediately, the price is lowered over time through our color coding system (check the signs in our stores for more information). To make room in our stores for more incoming material and to keep these quality items out of the landfill, we are offering them to the community free of charge.
There will be carts in front of the Triphammer ReUse Center with the items available for free Saturday through Monday only. The items are include glassware, dishware, toys, binders, lighting, ceiling fans, light bulbs, plumbing, window blinds, electrical and more. Feel free to take as much as you need.
Finger Lakes ReUse operates two nonprofit Community ReUse Centers, encouraging high-volume reuse of materials through convenient and accessible locations, creating and supporting job training opportunities and living-wage jobs, and teaching repair and reuse skills. ReUse helps strengthen the local economy, builds community, and protects the environment by redirecting materials from the waste stream into productive reuse.
The Triphammer ReUse Center at 2255 North Triphammer Road (in the Triphammer Marketplace, on TCAT bus route #30 or #70) and the Ithaca ReUse Center at 214 Elmira Road (on TCAT bus route #15) will continue to be open seven days a week as always, with thousands of additional items. Finger Lakes ReUse can be reached at (607) 257-9699 and accepts checks, cash, and credit cards.
