Finger Lakes ReUse will be participating in Giving is Gorges this year, among many deserving organizations, raising money for the ReUse Community Fund. Join us by helping community members in need by giving them store credits to shop at our stores. ReUse doubles the impact of your donation by contributing an equal amount of in-kind contribution to every store credit created through the ReUse Community Fund. Every dollar donated to this campaign goes directly into store credits provided to local people in need and nonprofits in need of material supplies.
This year, we are trying to raise $2,500, which will provide funding for $5,000 in store credits!
Giving is Gorges begins TONIGHT, on June 1st at 12:00 am, and runs for a full 24-hours. You can check out our campaign page here:
Community members facing emergency situations, including extreme poverty, illness, and relocation after domestic abuse or house damage from storms can shop at our stores for any items they need, only needing to provide their name at the register to redeem their store credit. We have designed this program to provide fast access to our goods since we know that anyone need in this service often need items immediately, and will deliver items right to the door of any Community Fund recipient in need of transportation.
Not able to donate this time around? One of the biggest things you can do to help this campaign is to spread the word leading up to and especially during the event. Sharing information about our Giving is Gorges campaign with your friends, neighbors, family, and other important people in your life can make this a successful event, and can be just as effective as making a cash donation.
To share this event, simply post the link to our campaign: www.givingisgorges.org/organizations/finger-lakes-reuse-inc. Post this anywhere and everywhere!
On Twitter and Facebook, you can use the tags @IthacaReUse and @GivingIsGorges to show your support further.
