On October 1st, more than 400 fraternity and sorority members poured into the Ithaca community as part of Greeks Give Back.
93 Cornell fraternity and sorority members chose to volunteer with Finger Lakes ReUse and help us move our “indoor lumberyard” from Triphammer ReUse Center to our temporary outdoor lumberyard at the Ithaca ReUse Center. They did an amazing job, as did our staff and volunteers who worked with them.
They showed up in three groups for two hour shifts each. The first two groups formed a “bucket brigade” with lumber flowing out to the trucks at Triphammer ReUse Center, and the last group met us at Ithaca ReUse Center and unloaded the trucks into the lumberyard.
It was an enormous undertaking, we calculated that their help was equal to more than 4.5 full time workers for a week!
