This Holiday, Bring Your Unwanted Electronics To Finger Lakes ReUse!

The holidays are here!  Congratulations on your brand new laptop! Your family finally came through and replaced that old coffee maker or toaster.  Your partner finally got you the upgraded smartphone that you’ve only been hinting at for the last five months.  What should you do with the devices they are replacing?

This year, don’t stick them in your closet, basement, your junk drawer or worse …the trash!  This can leave toxic materials and pollutants in the environment.  Americans generated 3.36 million tons of obsolete electronic products in 2014 and the number is growing every year according to the United States EPA 2.

Donate your unwanted electronics to Finger Lakes ReUse.  The quality items we sell at our two ReUse Centers  – Ithaca ReUse Center (214 Elmira Road, Ithaca, NY) and Triphammer ReUse Center (2255 Triphammer Road at Triphammer Marketplace, Ithaca NY) – helps to divert these items from the waste stream as well as helps support programs like the ReSet Job Training Program.

This season, the following items are in high demand:

  • Flat screen televisions, any size
  • All-in-one desktop computers 3
  • Laptops, any size or capacity 3
  • Stereo receivers
  • Video game consoles
  • Smartphones (any brand, especially AT&T compatible)
  • Cell phones
  • Small kitchen appliances (coffee makers, toasters, mixers, blenders, food processors)
  • DVD Players
  • VCRs
  • GPS devices
  • E-book readers
  • Tablets
  • Walkmans
  • Cassette tape players
  • Turntables
  • Speakers

Make room for your new presents while continuing to save the planet at Finger Lakes ReUse! Think ReUse First!
