ReUse Materials Access Program
Ithaca is sharing.
The Reuse Materials Access Program (ReMAP) helps community members in need by providing them with a ReUse gift card. We aim to build local resilience through shared resources and increase local material access. We accept referral applications for gift cards from local human service agencies partnered with us. We review the request, and provide the household with enough credit to purchase needed materials.
Through this program, Finger Lakes ReUse has helped over 1,800 households and has provided nearly $350,000 in ReUse retail value items since the start of the program in 2017.
How does it work?
To find a comprehensive list of agencies in Tompkins and Cortland Counties, please go to the Human Service Coalition’s list of services at 211.org or call 2-1-1 from any phone in Tompkins County. For more information about the fund, please read the documents: Information for Service Agencies and Information for Recipients (links below).
How can I support this program?
Every dollar donated to the ReUse Community Fund in support of ReMAP is matched in-kind by us at Finger Lakes ReUse, doubling the impact of your donation.
The ReUse Materials Access Program is made possible by gifts from community members like you. Our ReUse Community Fund is a restricted fund that supports this program, contributing 50% of the cost of each store credit given to a local household in need through this program. The other 50% is donated in-kind by Finger Lakes ReUse, meaning each dollar you donate makes double the impact in someone’s life.
Funding for this project is generously provided by the NYS Environmental Protection Fund, as administered by a grant from the New York State DEC Environmental Justice Community Impact Grant Program, as well as the Friendship Fund, and generous individual donors.
To make a gift to support this program directly, go to our donate page and let us know you’d like 100% of your gift to go toward this program.
How can I receive store credit through this program?
To qualify for a store credit through the ReUse Materials Access Program, you must be referred by a human service agency. If the agency you work with is not aware of this program, please refer them to this website to complete a partner agreement with us to receive access to submit a referral.
If you do not know which agency to work with, please dial 2-1-1 to talk to Tompkins County’s volunteer hotline to help you find the agency for your needs.
If you are an agency looking to refer a client:
