FAQ
Do you have...
Our inventory changes frequently, but if you don’t see what you are looking for on our online inventory, put in a request on our ReUse wishlist: https://ithacareuse.org/wishlist/ and our Deconstruction Coordinator will get in touch with you if and when we have a deconstruction project that satisfies your needs. Or, better yet, visit our building material selection in-store to browse our available wares!
Is there a minimum of material I need to purchase?
We are happy to make sales for part or all of what is available—prices reflect this.
Are you still gathering final measurements? Contact our Deconstruction Coordinator, and they will keep you in mind as the material sells or more becomes available.
How do I use reclaimed building materials?
Reclaimed building materials can be used in a wide variety of applications. They can be reused as in its previous use—flooring could be flooring again—in a new project or renovation, you can re-process the material to use it in a new way, or it could be virtually anything if you’re being creative! Building materials are raw materials that you have the opportunity to craft into whatever use you would like.
Something to consider: salvaged materials may need to be re-processed for certain applications; this may include cleaning, cutting, or refinishing, depending on the use. Consider these associated times and/or prices when purchasing these materials.
