Even though the world celebrates Earth Day on April 22nd, every day is Earth Day at Finger Lakes ReUse!

Reuse in action is complex and takes many hands, hearts and minds to successfully enact. We receive, identify, sort, value, clean, test, refurbish, and make items available again for sale, or for free to households in need. ReUse relies on the support of generous community members to keep this uniquely local service available for all.

Kept 811,821 items in local use that may have gone into the landfill.

Ithaca Rotary club volunteered over 500 hours and priced more than 21,000 items in a partnership with ReUse to keep more materials in use.

The eCenter refurbished 993 laptops, desktops, smartphones & tablets as well as 1,086 peripherals last year.

Partnered with over 40 local human service agencies to provide 904 households in need with $216,158.74 in gift card value through the ReUse Materials Access Program (ReMAP).

ReUse also provided 253 families a free delivery with their referral to this program.

Provided 32 nonprofits and community organizations with free materials for community projects and initiatives.

Through the ReUse ReSET (Skills and Employment) job training program, we worked with 33 trainees and successfully connected 6 to permanent, unsubsidized employment.

Provided 87 employees with a living wage.

Over 600 individual volunteers & 24 groups logged more than 10,500 hours, supporting Community ReUse Center activities.

Worked with 19 workers under the age of 18, through a partnership with the Ithaca Youth Bureau Youth Employment Services & Tompkins Workforce NY’s Summer Youth Employment Program.
