Finger Lakes ReUse is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its newest location: Cayuga ReUse Center (2309 N. Triphammer Road). Celebrations run from Wednesday, September 16th through Saturday, September 19th, 2026, with special events throughout the week.
The festivities kick off Wednesday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30 AM. New York State Senator Lea Webb and Assemblymember Anna Kelles will join representatives from the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce to officially mark the opening. This ceremony recognizes the community partners and supporters who made the Cayuga ReUse Center expansion possible. A photo booth will be available from 11 AM to 1 PM for visitors and partners to capture memories of the occasion.
Saturday rounds out the celebration with free ice cream from Purity Ice Cream from 1 PM to 2 PM (while supplies last) and another photo booth opportunity from 11 AM to 1 PM.
Duck Scavenger Hunt
Throughout the entire grand opening weekend (September 16-19), visitors can participate in a duck scavenger hunt as they explore the new store. Ducks are hidden throughout the Cayuga ReUse Center. Find one and win a coupon for 15% off one item. One coupon per person. It's a fun way to discover all the corners of the expanded location while shopping for quality secondhand goods.
Explore the New Space
Cayuga ReUse Center is larger than the ReUse MegaCenter's previous locations combined. The expanded retail space makes browsing easier and discovery more likely. Visitors will find everything from clothing and books to furniture, household items, building materials, and electronics. Every item gives materials a second life while providing affordable options for community members.
Tours of the new location will be available throughout the grand opening weekend. Staff members can explain the work happening behind the scenes, and the community programs supported by every purchase.
